Well I've been caught in 2 massive hail storms on the freeway this summer and somehow came out victorious. Both times it sounded like my car was being pelted by rocks and just accepted the fact that i was going to need some PDR.

After the storm has cleared and I inspect my car expecting the worst I havent been able to find even 1 ding or dent as a result from the hail. I do have a carbon fiber hood but i would still expect something else to dent but it just hasnt. Pleasently suprised- Has anyone else experienced any real damage from hail?

 

There were about 50 2008 SS turbos that were hail damaged at lordstown back in june of 08 . I looked at a couple and they were dented pretty bad. A dealer in Cleveland (O'briens) sold them as used for 16,900 .... most had less than 100 miles on them. There were quite a few that didn't have any noticeable damage at all

 

Yea we had one here about 3 months ago..First big storm in a long time Cobalt had $6218.34 worth of damage..Was in shop for a month

 

Ouch ..... that sucks . Hope it turned out good.

 

I got caught in one about a month ago, sounded like someone was beating my car with a hammer. It came through it with only 2 little dings, one in the passangers side front fender and one in the passanger side quarter panel, both smaller than a quarter and not very deep. I've yet to get the PDR done on it though there so un-noticeable.

 

i bet if you put a light on it that the paintless dent removers use u will c some

 

Yea it sucked it still had the temp tag but now it looks great and got a new windshield and everything

 

Had a storm a couple months back, 70-80mph winds and golfball+ size hail. I also have a CF hood...no hood pins yet and it's pretty wobbly...and i completely expected it to rip off or be busted up. Hood was fine but I have a few good size dings on my roof and a few dings on my doors above the handles. Not really planning on fixing any of it since my deductable is high.

 

Yep mine was one of them. Can't tell today though, only 2 small dings on the entire car, fine by me as I don't plan on selling it and I picked it up for cheap

 

I got down there way later than I wanted .....there were only 4-5 left . I saw one with a sold sign on it and I couldn't find one blemish on it. I kept changing my mind about trading my ss/SC for a TC ....otherwise i would prolly own one of those cars.

Nothing like getting a new car with almost 10 grand off sticker lol...... I looked at the things they dropped the warranty on......and those are things they never warranty anyway lol... so there wasn't really any downside to buying one.... just a good deal all around.
