Heel toe shifting in Cobalt SS/SC?

Stupid gas pedal is too low. Anyone found a way to correct this? Aftermarket pedal on gas pedal only?

Gas pedal height is fine if you are under heavy (i.e. on the track) braking for the turn where a heel-toe downshift is needed.

Not for me it isn't. The brake pedal does not drop enough. Even if it did if you trail brake into a corner while feeding in gas it would be too low. Overall it is too low.

I guess I don't heel toe in a traditional manner. My feet are too big to move like that. I use the sides of my foot. Left side for braking and right for gas. Dipping the right side of my foot doesn't work well in this car. The gas pedal is just too low. I think I will try a gas pedal cover and see what happens.

That is how I do it too (or used to in the 240sx), and it is kind of tricky with this car (i have the IRL, but the pedels feel the same). I thought about adding something to add some height to the gas, but haven't figured out what materal would work the best without being too heavy.

Like I said, Im just gonna try a screw on pedal cover and see what happens. If you have the others with the covers too it obviously wont help. I prefer the stock rubber covers on the brake pedal anyway. Another option would be to remove the stock rubber cover from the brake and put coarse grit grip tape on the brake pedal. Thats how my miata is on all of the pedals. Awesome feel with zero slip.
