Hood spacers
anyone have hood spacers for their cobalt? they supposedly reduce engine temps by 15 or so degrees. juust wanting to know what anyone did custom, or where they bought them from.
like so.
like so.
it's the same idea as cowl induction from early american muscle cars...gives a lil space for cool air to be sucked in...looks like it would be a sensible and CHEAP way to reduce a lil underhood heat, especially on the '08 up TC cars seeing as how the turbo is crammed back there between the firewall and engine...DEFINITELY cheaper than a "ram air" aftermarket hood
people who do everything by the books and complain about honda's FTL. look at other car cultures, take idea's, be different from the same old, same old cobalt crowd /rant
It just looks like you have
A: frame damage or B: just a poorly aligned hood
not something I'd do on purpose
remember all the time everyone spent trying to correct the gaps in the bumpers???

haha i had my car sit last night after driving it and popped the hood. I put my had on my blower and valve cover they were still both pretty damn hot. after sitting for and hour or so.
WOULD YOU LIKE SOME SOY SAUCE FOR THAT RICE?
nah i like the idea if u have problems with temps, probably couldnt hurt if ur SRI gets heat soaked too... but i think it makes it look like the hood is fucked up or misaligned.
an even cheaper way to keep cool engine temps -- drive around in alaska.

is this a serious thread? wtf why? Im sorry, some people on this forum will be incredibly harsh on people and say OMFG THAT CAR LOOKS LIKE COMPLETE **** GTFO YOU RICER and then when some1 posts up a rediculous thread like this, they get props. This idea is stupid. You want under hood temps reduced get a different hood. This is stupid. If you do this you deserved to get laughed at. This isnt innovative, its just retarted. Line your damn hood up the way it was designed and stop ******* your **** up for stupid minimal gains you ricers.
If your so worried about temps on the track, theres other solutions, or take your damn hood off on the track, its 4 bolts.

loljk
Now if somebody was to remove the black, plastic filler panel between the windshield and hood and fabricate a sealed channel directing the air to the stock airbox? I'd be in for that. The base of the windshield is a natural high pressure area. The air entering is also cooler than the underhood air. Anybody know where I can find a couple of those plastic parts to experiment with?
