as much as you're willing to build it for.

A engine isn't measured by how much boost pressure it can withstand but rather how much stress it can withstand.

I will answer your question in a simple way unlike these other dudes lol (sorry kev and adam lol)

16-18 safely....I run 20-22 and have no problems...but thats when you start to blow haed gaskets around 22-24 lbs

My amigo paul (missedmatchfaces) is running 23lbs on a turbo but upgraded his head gasket...

well it's just a very vague question. are we talking stock? or in general? or slightly built? highly built?

I'm assuming he means stock because it's obvious that an engine can hold a lot of boost when built right. The 2.1 ecotecs are holding 50-55 lbs of boost no problem lol

safest way to do that is get the stage 2 kit from gm. it includes bigger injectors, shorter belt, smaller pulley and pcm reflash, putting you around 240 wheel hp. if you want more, go with a 2.9" pulley, then start upgrading the exaust (header, downpie and cat back), cold air intake and then some cooling mods, im sure you will be more than happy

psi is irrelivant.
cfm is the issue.

23 psi out of a t-25 is not the same as 23 from a m62, or 23 from a 35r.

why?
cfm.

You'll notice it higher in lower gears while under heavy throttle. 2nd and 3rd ive seen mine hit 10lbs.

PSI is a measure of restriction not power. Like the man said cfm is where its at.
