How much should I pay

i am in the process of buying a cobalt ss/sc from a local dealer who has had it on the lot for two years now. they keep telling me the car is brand new but i tell them its not. i have a quote from costco for a 2007 model for 22k and this joker dealership is trying to sell me an 2006 for the same price. I have read how people are talking down the price on these 2006 models but what price should i shoot for? As of right now i am shooting for 18,500 and i am almost there.

any help would be appreciated

How many miles are on it? if its been on the lot for that long its had to have a few test drives on it.

Does it have the G85 package (recaro seats and LSD)?

I got my 06 with 8k miles on it with G85 fully loaded for $17k

Well i think you have serval options you could go.
Invoice is 24150. plus discounts rebate and all of 3886.00

They also have 0% for 60 mnths or 1.9 for 72 with 2136.00 extra in rebate. they should have about 700 left that they can come down from invoice on top of the rebates so after everything if you went regular financing you could get it for around 19,600 if they wanted to sell it bad enough. which they should they have had it since december of 05

wow man you are a life saver, so they'll probably go 19600 and after that they are taking a loss? so i guess i should shoot for 19600 then, ya i'd be paying cash so the financing isn't going to come into play. wow they have had it sense december 05 man, ok well thanks i'll give them a call and see what i can work out with them.

wait, so they could do 19600 with regular financing what do you think they can do cash offer? cause they told me 22316 with financing but they can do 20 cash, so i should shoot for around 19k probably then?

thank you so very much again

Theres a reason they've held on to it so long.

Why youre not able to talk them down is the reason.

If they were a dealer that wasnt doing enough business they'd jump the offer and negotiate hard to get the money back. They dont care.

There are 4 '06 SS/SC's within 250 miles of Fresno Unsold. All of them never titled and more than 481 days on the lot. Meaning they all got hard test drive miles on them. and almost two years of the factory oil sitting there out in the baking sun.

I aggreee with everyone else. 18K or less, 3 other dealers have them near you, or get a used one.

here are the 4 in/near fresno
