HURST short throw shifter.

Hey guys, with the stock shifter all gears shifted and stayed in gear perfectly, when the guy that I bought the car from installed the Hurst short throw shifter, it won't stay in 5th gear, when you shift into 5 it goes in grinds a quick second and pops out. How do I fix this? Any tips would be huge and appreciated. Thanks. Car is a 2009 cobalt SS T/C.

Need to adjust the cable clamps in the shifter housing.

I saw that, but didn't know if the problem of it popping out of 5th is the same problem of not being able to find it or have a tough time. I'm new to this. It goes in 1 2 3 4 perfect and also has the safety for reverse.

It's the lateral movement, and it's longer to push right than it is left. Pretty sure the locking ring holds it (barely) in reverse if that works.
