I'm looking for some pics

I'm trying to fit a SS lip on a G5 base bumper. My bumper had all the slits pre marked so I thought it might fit. The pockets from the lip are hitting the old bumper so I would need to cut that part out of the way. There is a mounting bracket in the way that I would have to cut too which I don't want to do.

Could someone please post some pics of how the SS lip attaches to the bumper cover? A pic of the rear bumper cover without the lip would help a lot. I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about doing this.

Also, does anyone know if the G5 GT rear bumper is the same as the SS rear bumper? (tails and reverse lights excluded)

Thanks!

There is, but the pics are horrible and there is no info about cutting the pockets which I know has to be done. I'm just trying to get a pic of the rear SS bumper without the lip on it to see what I have to do to make it work.

Thanks!

I found some of the SS bumper on "the other" forum. There is quite a difference between the two. I'd still like to know what the G5 GT bumper looks like though, but I think I know what I need now to start hacking away.

I'll defiantly be needing to make some custom mounting brackets...

Thanks for the help!

I hacked the bumper up today and everything fits as it should. You won't be able to tell this bumper didn't come like this. I didn't have to modify the bumper at all or do any plastic welding.

The G5 rear bumper has the slits marked to be cut, I'm assuming the cobalt doesn't. The thread I saw on here recommended cutting on the body line, but you should be cutting about 1/2" above. I've got absolutely no overhang on either side, fits like a glove

It can be done!

did you put a clip on the bottom of the lip through to the bumper on the ends?
