Construction is always a good job. You learn good skills you can always use. I worked construction through high school and college.

A lot of companies will take you with no experience and they'll train you. You'll of course be a grunt for a while.

If you can, find something that will be related to what you want to do in the future. Its nice to get your foot in the door at places and get some experience in the area you want to study. It might not seem like the most exciting (or manly) job, but if you can land an office assistant (secretary) job for an accountant you'll learn a lot about the business, and most places pay pretty well.

I worked construction for 3 years, and retail for 4 years....now I'm doing armed service work for Loomis, and I'm gaining some skills that I can use in the future, since I want to be a cop. Also a much easier job that pays much better

That's what I was thinking too.

Maybe find a local account's office and do a short apprenticeship.

Do NOT work Wal-Mart,. haha. I'm 20 and been there since I was 18, you don't want to work there. Sure it pays good, but they treat you horrible.
