Just installed solid mount, inside rattles like no other

So I just installed the TTR solid mount. I think once I get used to the vibrations I won't mind it too much, but I can't stand rattles. I had a couple before that weren't too bad, but now I have twice as many and they are 10x as loud.

Not really sure where they are coming from. One sounds like its in the rear view mirror. One in the headliner somewhere. One from the dash. One from the a-pillar....

What the hell do I have to do to fix these? I won't be able to stand those very long.

either alot of foam padding to make things stop squeaking or take out the solid mount.. you have basically bolted the motor to the front sub-cradle and frame.. full solid mounts vibe way harsher than jus the upper mount like you have.. but after 30 or so GOOD launch's and about 500 miles the solid mount's calmed down in the IRL i had.

I understand the vibrations, and like I said I think I will get used to them. The vibrations just brought out all of these rattles and I dont know if I will be able to take it haha.

(i have motor and trans mounts waiting to go in hehe)

My rear mirror used to rattle, replaced under warranty and hasn't made noise since. Got a sunroof? try pushing the switch up, see if it is making noise. Dash rattle, I still have the one from the right side of the instrument cluster. I'll deal with that when I change the bezel. Can't say about the A-pillar, don't have that problem.

Yes I did anom, and the mount is probably twice as bad as far as vibrations, especially as you are rev up the engine. I'm not sure how much I like it so far.

Also when I installed it, I got the polished version and when I tightened up the nuts/bolts, the polish coating cracked and chipped off around where the nuts/bolts are. I am going to have to talk to Aaron about that I guess.

did you find the install pretty smooth?
could you have used more information?

People seem to like my video howtos, so ive been tossing up doing one when i install all my mounts.

Oh yeah the motor mount is really easy to install. 15 minutes.

The other mounts I haven't done so I'm not too sure on those.

i have ingalls all the way tightened, and ttr bushings as well. i don't think it's really as bad as people make it seem. if you're expecting it to shake a little bit, then you'll be fine. at idle, change in my cup holder will rattle around a little bit. once you get going, no vibes at all except if you're in too low of a gear (slow down to 5mph, leave it in 2nd and accelerate) but it's to be expected, and it's a trade off that's well worth it.

i don't get the people that complain about the vibes. you knew it was going to do it. it's like getting an exhaust, then bitching that it's louder than stock

as far as the rattles in the op's car, if you know where they're coming from that will help isolate the problem. try securing everything somehow so it's tighter than it is now. for dash pieces or whatever, maybe some double sided tape or something to hold things in place?

Mounts are simple to install, the rear and trans are harder than the pass. side frame mount, but not bad at all.

06 ss, the vibes will subside some in the next week or so, but I think a lot of that is the driver getting used to it. I still don't like the vibration on mine, but I am immune to it now, and I really don't notice it until I get in the car when its hot out and I notice the rear view mirror shaking from the vibration and the glue being soft due to heat. Gets a lot worse with the A/C on in my car though, not too bad at all without.

Thanks for the tips.

Like I said, I'm not bitching about the vibrations. I knew they would be more severe and it will just take some time to get used to. I just can't stand how loud it is inside my car now with all the damn rattles lol.

my gf gets real bad car sickness, and if it doesn't bother her then it's not that bad

as far as install, took me about 3-4 hours with handtools, but also took a little longer because the car was hot and some of the bolts are close to the downpipe/tranny. i picked up a $40 impact wrench from wallmart, and it kicks ass. i did another members mounts and it took about 45 minutes total to do. well worth it.
