Though I have done it, hours on interstate doing 85 with the windows rolled down kind of sucks. I won't delete my AC until I gut the interior and go full race car. It just gets too damn humid here. I don't mind dry heat at all and windows work then. However moving air doesn't cool your body very well when it is so damn humid your sweat won't evaporate. The AC compressor is essentially just an idler pulley when it isn't turned on anyway.
Was just looking at some of your pics... did you replace any of the timing chain / gear components?
The chain looks like it is very stretched and the gear teeth are sharp. That chain should be riding that gear down the whole side.

It wasn’t activated yet and it’s a brand new chain
I know the whole nine yards is damn expensive OEM but those teeth look sharp. Mine have 123,000 NA mild miles on them and are all pointed. No way could I put new parts on old parts. If I didn't have GM warehouse connections I don't know if I would have gone 100% OEM. I got every component GM OEM including Cam Gears and OEM Balance shaft set for $380.64. Crate engine Warehouse gets $625.00 for what I purchased. That made it easy to afford all ARP bolts to go with it
I replaced my timing gears near 100,000 miles with the timing chain but honestly they didn't look worn at all. Hard to tell the difference from the new units. I use M1 and don't have VVT though, don't know how that affects it.
