The only problem I've had while thinking about upgrading the stock is that there are more standard speakers with the Pioneer. I would either have to settle for less later or do some custom work.

Thanks again, I just don't want to make the wrong decision. I've worked WAAAY too many years in a restaurant to spend my money on something I won't be happy with.

Those right there will tack on almost $1,500 onto the loan cost in ADDITION to the extra warranty I'm looking at through my credit union. Don't forget that as soon as you slap a turbo or supercharger on it becomes considered a "sports car" by insurance companies. I'm under 25 and male; you all know what that means .

Anyway, got approved for the loan today and talked with the salesman my dad's bought 4 cars from today. He's gonna cut me a deal and sell me my custom ordered cobalt for a few hundred over dealer invoice. I should be ordering sometime in the next two weeks, it's going to be an LT because that's all I can afford right now and I know I'll be happy with it.

I would like to thank all of you for your help and insight; it has been very helpful and informative in my decision making process.

Just remember You have to see it and ride in it everyday. And you know that the dealership makes money when they sell a car right at invoice price. A dealership gets discounts from the manufacturer when they order cars. kinda like you get a discount when you buy the 12 pack instead of the 6 pack. So a few hundred over invoice is just money in his pocket when it should be money going toward your new cobalt ss/sc. And remember if you get up and walk on him because he wont sell you an ss/sc. he will gladly sell you an lt because he doesnt care who the cars go to as long as they go. you could call him a ********** and leave and the next day he will sell you a car.

I realize that I could get a used vehicle. I realize that a car like the SS/SC has MOST LIKELY seen some abuse in form. Not knocking anyone for doing it, I plan on doing it when I get mine too. I can't control what kind of abuse they've seen though and I've talked it over with my dad and he says if it's going to cost me the same amount of money for the used one as a new one he won't co-sign the loan if I get the used. That's a problem, I turned 18 on monday and have no credit whatsoever right now. My interest rate would be ridiculous without him co-signing.

In response to having rainy-day money: I've got everything planned out so that I'll be making enough spare money/have enough put aside prior to buying the vehicle to have $1,000 saved up again in about 4 months. I've covered all my bases and compensated for the cost of the LT. I know I'll be happy with the LT, whatever I get will be a big improvement on the honda I drive now. I'll keep my options open though and talk to my salesman about the SC... I can't see it happening though.

Thanks for all the insight guys. I appreciate it.

See post #24 above. Mine is not an SS/SC its a SS 2.4. Just one question, how much is your 2.2 going to be total and per month.? Then compare it to a faster 2.4 SS with more options higher re-sale that is cheaper to buy. $15,500 or take over Smart buy at $285 per month for 30 months.

My car is garage kept and pampered. It doesn't have a mark on it. Never abused (I'm old (38), full warranty (transfereable I might add.. )

Your situation just confuses me AND I WANT AN EVO.. So this has to go.

Sorry, but I also want a coupe. If it were a coupe I would be most likely be pouncing all over that. I had to settle for something I could get with my first car, I've waited and saved and now it's time to indulge myself. Once again, I really appreciate the offer.
