My 10.5 year old flawless LSJ was scrapped in the lot... FML!

I've babied the hell out of this LSJ, no less than 10 people have asked me if the car was new in the last 5 years... That is, almost 6 years after I bought it, a testament to the work I put into my beautiful laser blue metallic paint...

Well, I had to take my car for work purposes and park in a hotel underground... I pulled into what I thought was one of the last remaining spaces, I noted that the driver beside me had their wheels turned away from my car, I hesitated, but I thought, "nah, they'll realize and correct before hitting my car parked 2 feet away"

WELL WAS I EVER WRONG!

My flawless baby now has this on the passenger side. Super pissed, would appreciate some condolences and maybe a trumpet or two to play an epic war song (amazing grace will do), I need it:

**** you you ******* dipshit who rubbed against my baby

God damnit, if I saw this happen I'd definitely be in jail right now. But I did not and security did not get it on their tapes either...

It seems very unfair what can happen to us car guys in a moment's notice. I was looking at buying a new car, but now I am a bit shy to do so in case this happens to my next car.

**** YOU ******** WHO DON'T GIVE A **** ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE'S STUFF, **** YOU.

Yeah... I need to vent.

Sucks man. I bought my wife a new car in 2014 and I don't think I will ever buy a new one. She's had four or five door dings from ******** hitting it in parking lots. One person hit it twice at the same time. It's like they hit it, backed up, and hit it again. She even tries to park away from people but at her work she doesn't have too many options. Sorry about your car.

I'd be pissed to man!! I protected my Laser Blue LSJ for nearly as long as you, and got top dollar trade in value for her by doing so.

People these days only see cars as a source of transportation. Few care about the car they drive, unless you are a true car enthusiast like most of us here.

They drive them carelessly and have no respect for other peoples cars either.

Thanks guys, means a lot.

I honestly am still upset about it, I have an emotional attachment to my car, not unlike I do my dogs.

I'm lucky that I can afford the deductible, and the insurance valued my car at $3500 (kick in the *****) which means it's not a write-off. They estimate damage is $1200 CAD, I bet it's going to be more than that...

I'm curious as to how much you got for your LSJ Staged? I probably have the lowest mileage LSJ in the world, with fresh paint across most (grrr) of the car (waxed religiously) and mine's only worth $3,500 insurance value. I have less than 60,000 miles on her!

As a side note, what's the chances that I may be the longest original owner of a LSJ in the world? I just can't get enough of this car, after doing the header/downpipe it just sounds sooo raw and I can't stop blipping the throttle... Ya know what I mean?

The dealer gave me 7800 for mine.

Wow that really sucks man....that's the reason I try my best to park away from people. I wish people were more considerate of others property but that isn't the world we live in, too many are inattentive and some can even be vengeful...

That sucks. That happened to wife's car while we were at church. Yup, church. I guess that whole honesty business stops once you leave the building.

FWIW, when I saw your title I thought something completely destroyed your car (scraped vs scrapped)

Hahaha I thought the exact same thing. And I'm an engineer too. I was thinking, damn, how did they accidentally scrap his car? I figured they must have sold him the Truckster like Chevy Chase in National Lampoons Vacation.

I love the asshats that part next to me when I park out in the middle of nowhere so I don't get door dings. I think they do it just to **** me off.

I was too lazy this time, I scanned the underground and it was packed, the first spot I saw I thought I was getting lucky... Turns out if I went 3 floors down the place was a ghost town... Lesson learned, if you think you might get dinged, MOVE!!!!

You'll never know when you've saved yourself from something like this, but surely, you will be if you park away from people every time. Wish I listened to my gut.

Oops my bad, I hear ya, pretty much rubbing a car and leaving a note is the closest thing to godliness that I can think of. It takes a real person of integrity to do the right thing...

67k on the dot.

I had the Recaro seats (I installed) as well. Everything on the car was flawless. I was shocked to when he offered me that price for it. I was expecting 5-5.5k max. If that was the case, I would have walked away and never sold it, haha.

Agreed!! First night with my GS, my wife and I stop at McDonalds for a quick bite to eat. I parked away from everyone. When I come out, there is a beat ass mini van parked so close to my passenger side I had to back out so my wife could get in the car. I have no idea how they didn't ding my car, but I looked up and down the car for a while before I left to make sure. Lucky I guess.

To be honest that's why I stopped caring about parking so far away. The more I was trying to keep my car flawless the more things would happen to it. I still remember I was so happy my car was to ally looking the way I wanted and got re ended for the 2nd time

Did you try to rub it out with rubbing compound sometimes that works wonders. Did it get dented up? I had a lady freaking out one day at work saying someone sideswiped her rental car called the insurance her deductible was 2500 and I had my wax kit in the car and removed all the scratches and white paint from her black rental. It had a little dent but the company didn't catch it she called her insurance and removed the claim. Also I am an original owner of an 06 lsj bought in may of 06 was laser blue I changed the color

Hahah tell me about it.. I park miles away and my GF parks as close to the front as she can. She probably has less door dings then I do.

Sucks.

If you go through insurance, and you're in the GTA, hit up 427 collision near QEW/Kipling, they did an excellent job for me once.
