is my intercooler bad?

is my intercooler bad?

I was told that intercoolers and intercooler pumps go out pretty quick on cobalts how can I tell if mine is bad?

Open the ic fill cap and see if there is flow. Flow means its working.

usually its the intercooler pump that goes out but yeah do as stated above and if its not flowing then the pump is broken

woah, I was unaware the intercooler on the cobalt SS needed fluid to work properly, Im going to go pour coolant into my intercooler, BRB!


Edit: didnt see a fill cap so I just poured it through the intake. Car stumbled pretty bad at first on start up but over all I think it sounds much better.

^^^ The intercooler on the SUPERCHARGED models have coolant in their heat exchangers........

Technically the LSJ has an intercooler and heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is just like a radiator and the intercooler is in the intake manifold.

i was looking up the inter cooler pumps because mine is bad i found a bosch inter cooler pump that seems like it would work. Is this a good choice or has anyone had better luck with a different one?

here is a link to the pump u need and any kinda of upgrade pump would require custom installing also this is the same pump that is used for the 400+ hp 03/04 supercharged mustangs so it will flow all u need anyways.

no he meant if you had a custom one built it would require custom mounts. That one is the OEM replacement.
