Octane does not equal power

Different states offer different octane levels due to different laws.

Our Chevron premium is 94.
Most others (Esso- Shell etc) is 93.
That is in the Greater Vancouver area. The interior of BC only has 92 max at the Chevron's.

IMO all u guys who have 93 or even 91 are lucky...come up to alaska and taste the highest rating of 90. i cant seem to find any station up here with anything more then 90 but my dealer says that it will be fine. but we all know dealers will say anything to sell a car right

It basically boils down to this... 87 will be just fine for 2.2 and 2.4L ecotecs. Using 89 won't hurt. Using premium will probably not provide any benefits to a 2.2L, but will give a little extra kick to the 2.4L.
