oil catch can location?
oil catch can location?
hey guys i have the jegs air/oil separator and from what i found from searching in this forum im seeing mixed reviews of it being mounted behind the valve cover to the hose that goes to the CAI pipe. when i cleaned my throttle body i found no oil in the tube only in the supercharger area.. is there another location where it should be installed?
there is an ongoing discussion about the correct way to set one of these systems up but I can not give you the answer myself lol.
Powell makes a separator system that the LNF guys use and it seems to have great reviews, but as for a low cost LSJ setup i am not sure ... maybe one of the more knowledgeable guys can chime in.
where are you on the island btw ?

yeah thats what i thought.
but the jegs thing is just a catch can if i recall correctly Powell has a drain back line from the seporator that drains back into the special dip stick tube.

I think the jegs thing is a oil separator from an air compressor that requires you to manually empty it. Not sure the pressure drop across it buy I know the unit Powell uses does not have significant pressure drop as its actually engineered for the application used and a lot of direct injector diesel guys use it.
Yeah the jegs is basically an air/oil separator for a air compressor. you have to manually drain it from the bottom. not really sure on the pressure drop.. where can i find this Powell can? i cant seem to find it on google.. wow your 20 minutes away from me lol.
His website isn't the best, but his parts are. Usually just have to email.
Also lots of info in here.
