Oil change question
Oil change question
I was wondering if the warranty covered scheduled maintence such as oil changes, and if not is it worth it to go to the dealership and get it changed anyways. Also, is synthetic oil really worth the extra money?
The warranty does not cover oil changes however I still bring mine in to a local TRUSTED dealership to do them only for the simple fact that the trade-in value is usually a bit higher if you have had your car maintenanced by a gm certified dealership. Also, if your car requires synthetic it is usually in there for a reason and should be put in.
Warranty doesn't cover oil changes and the like unless you paid extra specifically for it (I was offered 2 years maint. for like an extra $60 a month or something... f that, I'll do it myself) ...and if it's an ss/sc, it comes with Mobil 1 from the factory, and I wouldn't use anything other than that.

Oil Change Answer
As far as I know oil changes are not covered under your warranty. I have never heard of any dealers ever covering that before. Me myself I always change my own oil, although I haven't done it yet in my Cobalt because I only have 1200 miles an the ODO. I like to do it myself cuase it is cheaper and gives me a chance to check everything out on my car. Just my opinion though.
