Omg Cant Decide!!!

Heres my deal O_O I can get any car around the Cobalts SS/SC's price range, new or used. Ive been considering the RSX Type S and the Cobalt SS aswell as a Used SRT4 which is substantially cheaper. Any suggestions on which way I should go? Please done be biased because this is a Cobalt website, I know its a great car but really can I get a better used car for the same price as a new SS???

Ok, It depends on a lot of things.

Do some research on each car. There are many threads on here about each, so do some searching.

Rate how important each aspect is to you and compare that with each car:
-Acceleration
-Handling
-Visual appeal
-Comfort
-Aftermarket
-Standard equipment
-Optional equipment
-Fuel economy
-Insurance
-Safety
...etc

This is a Cobalt forum so a lot of people will say just get a Cobalt, but it's your money and you should make the best informed decision based on your prefrences.

Despite having said that, I think you'll get the most for your money with a used SRT4, as long as it was not beat up by some 16 year old kid, and the miles are reasonable. That's just my opinion

I picked my Cobalt SS over the SRT4 because I liked how it looked better, and I just couldn't see myself driving a Neon. ( I know it's far from a neon but it's based off of one and still looks a lot like one.)

I have a lot of respect for the SRT4, and after seeing them around they grew on me, and if I had they money to buy a 2nd car I think I'd get an SRT4. (But I wouldn't give up my SS for one )

Many of us have been in your shoes. As a matter of fact. I have. I was very undecided, I say you go and seat in the drivers seat of a cobalt ss. You wont let go. I went to see both cars, srt4 and cobalt and when i sat on the srt i didnt have the pimp factor. The interior was not as nice and i donu shifter was a long stick. I jsut didnt like it. when i sat on the cobalt ss. It deffinetly had the PIMP factor. Sunroof leather seats. 2 doors. I loved it so i said to myself. The only better thing about the srt is that its a lil bit faster stock. the cobalt ss wil still take most cars on the road and later on the after market will deffinetly catch. K&N is coming out with an intake in less than 30 days and magnaflow is coming out with an exhaust in august. So i said to myself Im just gona get the car i really love which is only a lil bit slower for NOW>
Hope that helped.

Thanks, that helped, I have driven to Cobalt SS's so far and I liked them but I have not driven a RSX Type S or a SRT4. There alot of other vehicle that I could consider. A used RX8 is in the price range aswell as a Ford Lightning and a Used 350Z so I dont know which way to go. I like the idea of buying new so Iam leaning towards the SS.

I also wanted to buy new, I figured it was better to have a full factory warranty than just taking my chances.

Here is something else to consider:

When people post about considering the SS, I usually always suggest a used 2000-2001 Audi S4. When you compare that car to the SRT4, RSX, or the Cobalt SS.. well there really is no comparison. It's very luxurious, fast (2.7L Bi-turbo, 250hp AWD, 0-60 in 5 seconds, and a 13.6 1/4 time), and handles great. It is more comparable to a BMW M3. A used Audi S4 should run you around the price of a new Cobalt SS.

That was the car I was looking hard at, but the downside to that car is operating costs. They are a fortune to repair.

The S4 is a rare car and very hard to find, which can be a plus for owning a car like that.

I looked at s4's not many available and the repairs would be rediculous. a 2000-2001 is at the point where it would start needing repairs. I went and ordered my 06 SS/SC today, Black with the Recaro package It was a toss up between a new SS or a 2002 Camaro SS. I would prefer the Camaro but I will be driving this vehincle in the winter and an SS Carmao would have been a handful. So I guess I will be enjoying my SS/SC but, I wont be seeing it until late august or early september I dont think. Thats ok though it will give me some time to save a larger down payment. I dont have any trade in since this is my first car(Only 21). I hope I dont regret my decision ;D

p.s. Thanks for the coaxing ;D
