Paint chip

I installed my gen 2 halo projectors and i didnt notice that when i close the hood, they rubbed on the corner. Its been like that for about 4 months. Im not sure if its rusted.

I heard that I could just put clear nail polish on it to prevent rusting. Could i just put black nail polish to match my paint?

I would just get some touch up paint from the dealer.... At least it's black. I tried touching up some scratches on mine (Laser Blue) and even though it's from the dealer, it doesn't match very well... metallic paint FTL

I believe the hood is galvanized so it won't rust. I would go with kkanowitz's suggestion and get some touchup paint. That should cost ~$10.

Im bored at work so i was lookin in the owners manual and it said that if u have to get sheet metal repaired, make sure the shop applies anticorrosive material. Right under it, it says if u hav any stone chips, you should repair it right away cuz it will corrode quickly.

if not, you can always try to get it color matched at a paint/autoparts store.

I wouldn't if it's just a chip, just make sure to remove any wax from the area.
