Painting trim

I want to paint my trim in my car this is what I've heard for everything I need but I'm not so sure and if it's done right does it feel sticky like some spray painted plastic? Does this usually look good? And also is there anything else I need? Anyone have a video or pictures of them doing it? Thanks
  • 300 grit
  • 600 grit sand paper
  • Plastic spray paint
  • A plastic primer

Just finished painting mine with spray paint. What i learned was to look good and not like it was spray painted (look like orange peel) is load it up with lots of clear coat and wet sand it with 1500 grit after. Will come out silky smooth. Just make sure you have enough clear coat on it so you don't get to the paint
