Angry Pissed Off!!!!

Ok get this last week the apartment complex that I live in was painting the siding. Well I went to wash my 4 month old SS/SC and to my suprise the is ******* paint specals all over my car I am pissed.

Does anyone know an easy way to get this off without repainting.

Please HELP

I do not own a buffer but I am pretty sure that will fix it, but is there another way other than a buffer please let me know?

go to a auto pint supply store and buy a red or blue clay bar they work great for removing fall-out, overspray, and tree sap. cost is about $15 make the apt complex buy you one and keep it for future use, you never know when some idiot is gonna rattle can a part for his ricer and over spray you.

They probably painted the siding with Latex paint so it shouldn't be to hard to remove, any autoparts store, Wal-Mart should have a clay bar kit. As mentioned by philco_3 I would contact your complex manger ASAP about this problem.

Agreed, go to the apt manager and show him the car. Demand that it be repainted at a reputable shop, better if you have several quotes. He may refuse as the contractor that did the painting is the responsible party, you may have to go after them and they will most likely refuse also. If you have to get a lawyer, do it. If you don't want the hastle, you can get the overspray off with polishing compund and a little elbow grease. Be sure you get polishing compund and not rubbing compound. It will not scratch the paint and if you have waxed the car recently it will come off very easily. If you have any dought, just polish a small area and see what it looks like.
I use polishing compound on my SS before every wax job to remove bugs and grime, it works much better than tar & bug remover.
REMEMBER - Polishing Compound, NOT Rubbing compound. I use No.7 Clearcoat Polishing Compound.

you need to report that stuff man, if not used properly you can f up your paint with claybars. what happens if you mess something up after the fact? you'll be out of luck

Already did

I already reported to the apartment managers this morning when I found out. They said that they are not liable for it. They said that the painters will be liable for it. worst thing that could happen is it doesn't work and I get them to pay for the pro buff job. Also already got an estimate on a buff job from the dealer they said $65 so we will se how it goes and if it don't work I will use them like a two dollar *****.

id guess its latex
you can use soap and hot water, and scrub it to get the paint off
shouldnt be that bad

but if its oil, then you could use a !tiny! bit of lacquer thinner to try and remove it
if you use too much, itll take the finish off, and ruin the paint

i work in a paint store

I had a similar problem, tried having a pro remove it with heavy clay. Didn't work just smoothed it down. If it is latex and is fairly fresh, wash it with soap and water before you even try anything more agressive. It 'should' come right off. If it isn't, I wouldn't recommend trying the laquir thinner, you will end up repainting the car. Not a good thing at all.

Short of wet sanding what I found that worked very well is Kit waxes light scratch remover wax called Kit Scratch Out. It's a liquid compond that took the speckles right off and didn't damage the finish.

Good Luck and HTH.
