Powell Rotated Mounts Install

Just had my mechanic install my stage 2 Powell mounts (LNF rear with keyhole spacer and front rotating mount). The car has some vibrations and is definitely noisier now but only within the 1-2K idle range. In the higher rpm range the vibrations and noise go away. Just to be clear by no means did I think it would run as smooth as stock. I just want to make sure it sounds like they are installed right based on peoples experiences.

I need to get my stage 1 soon befor the drags open. Everything ive read it should calm down after you drive it a little. You guy followed all the install steps with the mounts etc.??? If he didnt do the bolts on the engine mount the vibes will still be there

Yeah he followed the instructions but Devin can you clarify what you mean by "If he didnt do the bolts on the engine mount the vibes will still be there". Thanks!

You lightly loosen the 3 bolts that mount the engine to the engine mount and drive around for a bit. Then u go back and torque those bolts to spec

Yeah this. But i live in a area with a lot of hills so idk if driving
With inclines and stuff would be good. But if its flat go for it. You just want to make sure the engine gets aligned with its mounts so thats the reason for the mount getting loosened.

The clutch was changed at the same time so the whole engine was hoisted up when they were installed. I will loosen the 3 bolts and drive on a flat surface as soon as the Blizzard passes and I can get in my car lol

Ive read that you dont want to do just 1 upgraded mount because it makes the rear tranny mount the weak point and hurts more than it helps

don't believe everything you read on the internet, the front trans mount and a keyhole spacer is most then most people will ever need, you won't be doing any harm to the other mounts if you install everything correctly.

Im not talking about breaking a mount. Im saying how the mounts work together in correcting wheel hop and improving shifting. Like the same way that you dont use a solid engine mount with rotated trans mounts

Stage1 is powell mount/spacer. Stage 2 is powell mount/spacer and stock lnf mount. He has a 06 so he did get a upgraded mount. In a lnf u just get stage 1 unless you want a new mount for your tc then get stage 2.

Oh ok i was thinking powells stage 1 was like ottps stage 1 were u get just a front mount and nothing to raise the rear of the transmission.

with the powell stage 1 or 2 mounts you want to loosen the engine mount bolts on the passenger side as your installing the transmission mounts. this allows the rotation of the engine. after you have the transmission mounts installed and tight then tighten the engine mount.

This is exactly what I got from my Powell Stage 2 on my IRL. Nothing to worry about, they're working as they should be.

So if this is normal should I still lightly loosen the 3 bolts on the passenger side and drive around for a bit?

If you didn't do it you should loosen the mount because it is possible to hold the engine when it's not in the right position.

Some vibrations are normal but loosen the mount and tighten back up to make sure. it was done right
