Project Gobalt - Teaser
EDIT: Read the update that it requires some mods to get the gauges to fit.
I'd love to run that gauge if everything worked on it. Special modification done to the cobalt's wire harness?

Well its been a few weeks since I`ve had an update.. Been busy trading my dually for a half ton and getting the shop to the point where I can walk again.. I have gotten the rest of the interior plus the wiring harness removed now. Parts for the rear end fabrication have been laser cut at work and just need to be formed up then I can start cutting!
I have a 220v mig welder lined up for trade tomorrow. Check out the site for pics and explanation of whats happening!

Well i got the welder and borrowed a plasma cutter and was able to get the rear end test fitted with everything cut out. Looking promising, but may have to widen its ass end a little wee bit
Check out the updates click sig!

Well shorten the width of the drive shaft or use a narrower rear. A couple inches shorter/narrower rear with shafts would be cheaper than a wide body balt! just saying! Cant wait to see finished pics/cost!
But if you came up with a nice easy way, that was tested well, then you could sell it to use. I'd buy it. I'm tired of thiS FWD.. I'd prefer AWD, but I'd take RWD over FWD.

I havent investigated my choices on this supension yet, once its all mounted in i was planning on stairing at it for a couple hours to see if i could figure something out. Being that its independent its a little more difficult to mess with the width of the rear end.
you going to have body work regardless so widening the fenders out shouldnt be the end of the world. depending on who you got to do the fab though it may get kinda pricey though. Not sure how good you are with body work.
