Question Projector Headlights

Hello,
I've seen adds on the sight for Projector headlights. I'm wondering, is that mostly a cosmetic thing, or do they light up the road better then stock? If so by how much?
Thanks,
-Jonathan

They definitely do light up the road better than stock. I have heard aftermarket projector headlights get cracks on the lenses though. You'd be best off making or getting someone to make you a set of retrofitted projectors.

if you get aftermarket projectors make sure u get HIDs at the same time.....the regular halogen bulbs burn too hot and can cause cracking and peeling of the lens

^ that is what I heard. If you go with aftermarket lights only use HID's.

I say Gen4 projectors or oem retrofits.

Thanks! Yeah, they definitely are. Those are Nissan 350z oem projectors and hids in my stock headlight housing. They work awesome. I have high and low beams too. Definitely worth the money.

Ebay Gen 3 at around $160...they're all the same made by Sonar...Ebay HIDs at $40/set x 3 (high/low/fog)= $120...less than $300 for what you're looking at...

No problems in the past 10 months and one full winter...

Ok so how do you tell the REtrofits from the non-retrofits? Where do I find sweet looking retros? Do retros light up the road better then stock? Can you put Halogens in the Retros? Also whats HID?

Is there a Projector Headlights for Dummies? Aperently there is ALOT more to projector headlights then I thought there was.
WHat's HID?
Whats Retrofitted?
Whats Gen4? Do they have Gens 3 2 and 1?
When I google them, I can only seem to find places to buy them, not places to tell me about them.

I agree, for the price you can't beat it. However, one thing bothers me. Compared to the size of the housing, the projectors seem a little too small and awkward.
