projector output - serious question (pics)

I have searched, so don't flame me. I have a serious problem i would like to remedy before I install the HIDs i have ordered.

Ok, first things first, I ordered the 1st gen projectors a while back and they were fine. Then a couple weeks after I had them on the car a bulb burnt out. I figured they probably weren't the greatest bulbs since they had come with the projectors. I went down to Autozone and picked up some Sylvania Xtravision bulbs. Now here comes the problem. I can't remember if these were always like this but my drivers side, when driving, barely seems to be shining. The bulb is on and not burnt out but it seems as though it only illuminates an area about a foot in front of my car. The passenger side is fine however.

Also, when I shine both lights onto the garage door the passenger side has a hotspot in the center and the drivers side (the problem one) almost has no light whatsoever where the hotspot should be. I am curious as to whether the HIDs will solve this entire problem or if it will be the same thing. Basically, I don't know if my projector is screwed up or if it is the bulb. I really hope it is the bulb.

Here are the pics. If anything is unclear just post and I'll try to explain it better so I can get some answers. Thank you in advance, I know somebody has had this problem or knows how to fix it.

Here you can see the "hotspots" I was talking about. I apologize for the picture quality in advance.

This last picture is from the back of a box of Silverstars. The car on the left is how my light output would look from an aerial view but the lack of light on the drivers side would be a LOT worse.

Did you buy the right bulbs? The projectors use different bulbs than the stock lights, that almost looks like a bulb that has that coating on the front or something.

i have the right bulbs in they are H1's. So is it possible that maybe the drivers side bulb is just a bad bulb. Like a defect from production?

UPDATE: I fixed the problem. Sorry to waste a thread. Now I'm ready for some HIDs!

Well don't leave us in a loop, how did you fix the problem? I would have swapped bulbs to see if the problem moves to the passenger side.

H1's don't have a coating on the end.

yea sorry i didnt post how it was fixed. i was out driving around because i could finally see the road.

I pulled both headlights out and switched the bulbs. I first put the bad bulb in the passenger side and there was no problem over there so I began to worry it was something wrong with the projector. Then when i put the bulb back into the drivers side It didn't seat in there properly. I flipped it around and it still didn't seat in there properly. The problem was that the bulb was just a tiny bit too far from the projector lens so it caused the loss of light in the main concentration area. I had to move the wire I'm assuming goes to the halos and push it off to the side, still plugged in. Then the bulb would seat correctly and problem solved.

Thanks for all the help guys.
