No problems here, I find the balt (5spd) with winters to be better in the snow than my parents 99 Jimmy 4x4 with Mud and Snow All seasons, and leaps and bounds better than my old 99 Sunfire SE Auto with winters.
Actually, I find the car stops better in the winter on the snow with winters, than it did in the summer in the rain on the stock perellis.

Winters FTW.

As others have said it's ALL about the tires - honestly true winter tires in snow are a night and day difference from even good all season tires. Before I even took delivery of mine from the dealer, I had them install a set. The car has gotten though a couple nasty snow storms since with no problems at all. A set of steelies/snow tire will set you back a lot less than a winter beater and keep you going all winter long.
For the people who claim that it's the driver and not the car...thats a pretty ignorant statement. You don't even know who I am or how well I can drive. I like to consider myself a pretty decent driver, and everyone I know says the same. Even feathering the clutch with NOOO gas at all the tires were spinning. I wasn't getting ANYWHERE. There's was not a thing I could do about it. For people out of the area it has been hailing and freezing here ALL day.
Ive got snow rims/tires if I have to drive the balt this winter, best 600 bucks ever spent on tires and wheels. Hopefully I wont have to drive it, That is unless my winter car takes a **** on me. I bought a 1986 SAAB 9000 turbo for 300 bucks, put a head gasket on it, and have been driving it since december. Swedish turbo power FTW!
