Saab similarities
Hey all. My 06 SS has 180k miles now because my long commute but the engine is still spinning like a top and has perfect compression at 195psi. I doubt the motor will fail anytime soon. But all good things come to an end! I plan to keep the balt for a toy when I get another DD. I already have several bolt ons waiting, like pulley, exhaust, injectors etc.
When I want a newer DD I was thinking of getting a 2008+ Saab. I really like their interiors and when I saw the 9-3 was based on the LSJ/LNF platform I thought it would be an easy transition. Just curious if anyone here has ever owned or knows someone who had a Saab 9-3. I've pretty much just changed oil, spark plugs and suspension in my LSJ the last 140k mi. If the Saab is even close to that reliable I could see myself getting one. Just waned to know if there were any huge pitfalls with their builds vs the cobalts. Thanks in advance.

My buddy bought a 2011 Saab 9-3.
The motor is mostly identical to the LSJ, down to the valve cover. Its just got a turbo on it. Pretty quick once tuned too. His was auto with paddle shifters. He got it tuned and it made 230 whp 290 wtq on stock turbo, no mods.

my buddy has a 9-3 viggen! sick car!
they share lots of things with us, from the trans, engine etc..
you can't swap everything but it depends on the application. for instance their head designs are different due to turbo
