I agree. If you're stomping on it under 2,000rpms, yes the turbo will lag. But why would you be doing that anyway?

The sc boost is instantanious at any rpm, but once you're at a rpm where you should be mashing the gas, the turbo may take a half a second at most to boost... not too bad imo.

Sorry I had to reply to that one - as you SS/SC guys seem to always be knocking turbo lag as though that's all you got...
IMHO there is no need for one 'camp' to knock the other.

To the OP;
From what I've heard this is another difference that you might want to consider between the two cars:
The SS/SC appears to have had been given a sand-bagged horsepower rating (meaning dynos show them to have more than 205hp), while the SS/TC has been given an accurate hp rating.

No need to make plural .... Not all of us think that way, or really care which form of forced induction is better. They both have their ups & downs

I made a post exactly like this a few months back, I thought the SS/SC was completely pushed out of existence thanks to the TC, and people posted similar stuff to this

Guess who drives an SS/SC now?

Same here. I ended up purchasing an SS/SC just a month after telling a friend I didn't want to buy a Cobalt because the only ones in the price range I was looking in were supercharged... go figure.

After driving a SS/SC for 36K miles and an SS/TC for 10K miles ..........I feel lag everywhere with my TC ..... even thou we have a small turbo. Not knocking it ..... not debating it ..... just saying it . 8)

In a high horsepower fwd car turbo lag is your friend when launching from a dig. My .02. Honestly, I would just get an 07 sc and build it up a little more. The 10k you'll save would build you a better car than a tc any day of the week.

TBH I love turbo lag... Something about that lunge after it spools just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Plus it gives me a second while shifting to wave at whoever I'm currently passing
