Question Selling my Balt, need opinions on new car.

Hey i'm selling my 06 SS/SC (listed in classifieds if interested) and I'm having trouble thinking of some other cars to get. It has to be 2001 or newer for the Bank to give me a loan, but I love Civics, Celica, Tiburon..but that is where my thinking stops. I need a good reliable car cause for under $10,000 mileage is gonna be pretty high. Which brings me to my question, how are hyundai's as far as reliability goes. I know you guys are probably gonna flame for me liking civics, but please keep it to a minimun. All help is appreciated. Thanks.

I live like 30 miles from you. Civics out here in California have insane resale values, its almost impossible to find a good deal on them. Same goes for toyota although not as much (but close), so I think you will be hard pressed to find one. Id stay away from hyundai, they are crap. I dont know what other cars you are into, but before you buy take a look at KBB value and reliability. Civics seem to have an almost bloated reputation, and that drives their cost up higher then they are actually worth many times.

Just need something with lower payments. I'm only 19 in college working part time at Home Depot so it would be nice to not live paycheck to paycheck or at least have a little more money to spend on fun.

Yeah civics are awesome, I had one with 130,000 miles on it and it was great. I found a few with mileage a little less than that, but I just want to keep my options open rather than just search for civics only.

id look for a celica gt-s personally...ive always liked celicas sice theyre so light weight...a few extra horses makes a much bigger difference when your car only weights like 2300lbs

Yeah GT-S are nice, but it's hard to find one with decent mileage for less than $10,000. If anyone finds on then i'm all game.

What about a Mitsu Eclipse?

Yeah I complain a lot about it, but it pays the bills. I'm at special services, so it's not that bad. They at least work around my schedule a lot. But the management is terrible.

Yeah for my year I got 27 cents. I was so freaking pissed. I'm up to $10.50 but thats only after I got a job at best buy and they wanted to keep me so they gave me more money. Yeah I don't want to get rid of it, but I also have a girlfriend that I want to move in with eventually, and that's not gonna happen with my car, plus I would like to have a little more fun money. It kills me to sell it, but I just need to get a little extra on hand cash and not live from paycheck to paycheck.

Yeah I think it's ridiculous. I have a Line manager who has been there 13 years and she got 13 cents on her year. Over here they do it on percentages between 1 and 4/5 percent I think. If I were you I would talk to the manager and tell them you want more than 3 percent. I would give me a set price like 50 cents or something. But good luck with that.
