There are some people running 3.00" but honestly the stock injectors are prety much maxed out with the stock 3.35" pulley. I would wait till you get the GM Stage injectors before you change the pulley out.

If i could add to this question then, because im looking at getting a cobalt with stage 2.

the stage 2 pulley is only 3.0in. is it possible to go lower than that, say 2.8in pulley without upgrading the injectors. and if the injectors are fine with the 2.8in pulley will it need to be tuned more, or is the stage 2 tune enough.

ive said it countless times , but ill say it again since your new , stage 2 injectors are not fine with a 2.8 pulley you need 60 lb injectors with a 2.8 pulley, and no the stage 2 tune is not enough you will need a custom tune

the lowest i would go is a 2.9 and thats pushing it pretty good in my book the stage 2 tune should be ok with it but im not positive on that , im running stage 2 pulley with lucas 42lb injectors not the stage 2 injectors with gm stage 2 tune and if i swap pulley im changing the tune no matter what

And I will say it again! Elevation plays a huge part in this too! Im running stage 2 + 2.8 pulley at over a mile high! I only see 14-15 psi and my injector duty cycles are fine.

It really all depends on where you are and your car/mods.
