So Long SS!

Well ladies and Gents I am here one last time to bid you all a fond farewell.

This is a sad little story....

Several months back (while I was deployed to the middle east) My car was vandalized by someone as it sat in my driveway. Some jerk (substitute whatever 4 letter word you like) decided it would look better with eggs on it. so the paint was severly chipped and scratched in several places If you've ever seen an egg thrown on a car you'll understand

About three weeks ago there was a massive hail storm and my car got very badly damaged. So much so that the rear window and sunroof were shattered.
The rest of the car didn't fair much better. I had major water damage to the seats and floor. Due to the fact that I had not fixed the first problem but had already filled the claim... my insurance company was going to hit me for $1,000 worth of deductable.

So I started thinking about what I was going to have to go through to get the cobalt back to it's original condition and decided I just didn't have the desire to deal with it. The wife has been shopping for a new car as hers was getting bad milage. So we decided since the Cobalt was so badly damaged that we would trade them both away and get her a much nicer car than she had. Long story short. I have traded in my SS. Don't feel too bad for me though. I am now driving my 1966 Mustang coupe. She's a project car, but still in good shape. now that I don't have the Coby payment to deal with I will be putting more money into the Mustang.

So I am here to say so long to all the cool folks in the cobalt community. I very much enjoyed my SS and learned a lot from some of you about trick that could be done to it.
I will miss the Coby and the site, but it's time for me to move on.

I wish you all the best of luck with your cars. Every time I see one cruising down the road I will think back on the happy times I had with mine.

Its not bad, but he would have only had to pay once if he didnt have to make two claims. Probably a five hundred dollar deductable.
Good luck with the stang.

Ummm, why didn't you park it in your garage if you were going to be away from it for that long?

Hey guys. Thanks for all your comments. Let me reply to a few in kind.

First. It sounds like a lot of you have had problems with folks vandalizing your stuff. Sounds to me like we should all just go out and deliver some good ole fashioned ass whoopins'

Second. I Love this country and I would defend her with my last breath, but what we are doing in the middle east isn't defending our country... Nuff Said. If you ask me we need to be watching that border to the South a lot closer... now that would be defending our counrty!!!

Third... The car was parked outside because my wife was driving it off and on for me to keep it in good shape. My "Rustang" resides in the garage because I can't afford for someone to steal it or mess it up.

Fourth... The insurance money I was gonna have to pay out was $1000 per car due to the claims on both cars prior to the hail storm. Insurance compaines always try to stick it to you no matter what.

Last... I will definately miss the cobalt. I had some good times and ran down some pretty fast cars in my lil SS. I will never forget the look of surprise in a few peoples faces when I blew past them.

I hope you guys have fun with your cars. good luck to you all.

P.S. if you are ever interested in seeing what i'm up to with the Mustang you can check out my cardomain page. just do a search for grumpy24. I will post up from time to time when I make changes to it.

I feel bad for our troops over seas I really do i have friends and fam who served over seas and they all agree what were dooing over there is not in the interest of the american people.

I still support our troops even if the powers that be force them to do mercinary work under the guise of a war on an idea. Seems to me terrorists do things to terrify people ... like scare people about marijuana and leagle guns and middel eastern people from relitivly podunk countrys taking on a huge country half a world away because they don't like the way we do things?

Do not mistake me i love America but much like the wife i don't have to see eye to eye on every thing to still love her. Ide rather live in a corrupt America than the 3rd world any day.
