Some bad news...

This is sorta a long story, but here it goes:

Last tuesday I took my car to a dealership to have a remote programmed and to have my loose radiator "looked at." I was standing there when the service lady was typing in my information and checking what not. She then signed onto the GM inquiry website, or VIS if you know what I'm talking about. She was clicking some of the tabs and when she clicked the one marked "vehicle warranty" I noticed something I did not know when I purchased this car. It had not one, but TWO warranty blocks from GM on my vehicle. You can imagine what kind of suprise that was to me. So the dealership refused to work on my car. I was like what the ****!!!!! This is total bull****.....yadda yadda yadda...more four letter words and slang terms. THe date of the block was may of 06. The car was built in september of 05. I purchased the car in dec of 07, which still had warranty left of the original and I bought an extended warranty. So I call the extended warranty company, GMPP. I say what the hell is this block. He puts me on hold and when he comes back the first thing he says to me is, "Take the car back and get your money!!" I thought how strange. I then talked to the service manager from the dealership I took it to and he says, "take it back and get your money." I then talked to a local GM represenative and he didn't want to make a comment becasue he didn't want to get in trouble. So I call the dealership I bought it from and tell the story. They claim this has never happend before. They said some other stuff but I wasn't paying attention. So I used all of my extended vocabulary to express myself and demand my money back for the car. They say ok. So this past thursday I take the car back and the dealership is waiting for me. They had already written a check and were so apologetic.(sp) They said some more bullshit and tried to smooth things over, but that was the last time I am ever going to that dealership.

So a word of warning to all people who purchased their cobalt used: Go to a dealership and ask to see the GM inquiry aboout our vehicle. Don't let this happen to you.

Cliff notes: I purchsed car with blocked warranty and did not know. Took it in for service and they wouldn't touch it. Learned about blocked warranty and became pissed. Took car back to dealership where I purchased and got a full refund.

Get a T/C!!!!!!!!!!!! haha
That's awesome that they gave you all your money back. They absolutely shouldve, just good the dealer wasnt like "Not our fault, sucks to be you" and you were screwed. The scary thing is some dealers would try to pull that on people who dont know

Why would GM go and block warranty on a car?

Because if there was mods that were on the car at one point that voided the warrenty and a dealership voided the warrenty so they have to report it

I can , they legally would have been having some problems should they refused to cooporate . And withholding info like that , the law wouldnt have been on their side . They probably knew the warranty issue when they sold it and just chanced the car would never be taken in for warranty work .
