They are good for what they are I think and definitely underrated. I was just going to throw an M62 on mine and be done with it but it kind of snowballed from there lol

I was surprised when I couldn't find an oil pump priming adapter so I used the remote starter I have for cranking over 500cc single cylinder 2 strokes. With the plugs out it spun up a lot easier than any 2 stroke I was using this on. Gear reduction with an overrunning clutch.

Had ZZP install the 3rd Gen. LDK engine with fueling cam and larger ZFR. Now I must locate a used or refurbed F35 transmission. Ouch.

Nice looking car! Zfr's can be hard on transmissions. Lnfwagonss is your best bet, as he has found ways to make them last longer. Issue is that he is pretty backed up.

Did zzp suggest relocating the MAF?

A nice weekend to get things running. Took it for a spin this way and it's running great. Waiting for a new condenser then the front end will go back on. Being the most forward item, it has been beat up from bugs and anything else that makes it through the grill.

Just a few more wiring needs, a couple fittings and it's done.

High temp powder coat on the headers is holding up better than I thought.

Thanks...

The dual pass and addition of the OEM heat exchanger as well as the secondary heat exchanger is making a very nice difference in how quickly the temps recover. Bleeding at the Manifold and heat exchanger makes it a snap to get the pump flowing coolant.

Still need to machine a "Y" fitting so both can vent to the reservoir. Something I'm not liking is the raspy rattle of the down-pipe at certain RPM's. If it is the flex section I am considering wrapping it but it may be the inner section rather than the outer mesh.

I have removed the shielding from the bottom of the front grill area so air can get right to the filter but road spray is still blocked. I heat wrapped the pipe all the way to the MAF. Rather than fiberglass, this wrap uses a crushed lava rock woven material that is rated higher than fiberglass.

That heat wrap probably doesn't make a measurable difference as soon as the air hits the hot supercharger and intake manifold. See law of diminishing returns.

I think you are probably referring to my radiation barrier "isolation" box. I really only did that so I wouldn't be sucking air straight from behind the radiator. Honestly can't tell you how well it works because I had no way of monitoring intake air temps prior. I'm sure you are familiar with the short intake setup that comes with ZZP's supercharger kit that sucks in air up high in the engine bay with no route to fresh air whatsoever. Though I don't have the data to prove it, my ghetto ass isolation box is most likely a significant improvement over the ZZP engine bay intake I started with. My IAT1 temps are no more than 10 degrees over ambient while cruising after everything is fully warmed up. I would think we could reasonably assume that the engine bay intake ZZP provides with their kit yields much higher IAT1 temps.

ZZP intake provided with their supercharger kit

However, a better example of diminishing returns would be more applicable to my cold "ram air" intake tunnel I built. I think it dropped my IAT1 temp by about 2 degrees and probably makes no difference under acceleration.

Anything is worth trying just to see what it does. I'd still wager that that heat wrap on your intake does about as much as my cold "ram air" tunnel.
