dubsack made a generalization not to say that he's wrong about every difference. You're an ******* that needs something to do... so go make a list of every diff/reason why a balt is better than a RL

to the thread starter: get whatever works for you and isn't beaten on if its used. I still like to see a SRT4 here and there. Why all the hate in this thread?? really..

I agree. I love how the OP asked for advice on what to consider for a next car and it turned into an argument over which car has which frame, which one holds value, "that car sucks", "this car's ugly".

Meh.

Happy christm-anakah-lama-laka everybody.

An '05 w/ 15k???? Jesus...........I swear im the only person that gets their money's worth with their Cobalt, lol. Judging from your sig's mod list, your basically stock. Put a stage kit on there (or piece your own kit together), a full exhaust and and a nice intake on, and then see if your still un-satisfied. I doubt you'll wanna trade it in then.

Word. Cobalts will handle decently with some suspension tweaks. I have Sportlines, DC front strut bar and the Progress rear sway bar, plus my wider 225 tires, and it handles respectably.

the sub frame on your ls is going to be different from the ss and redline, the ss/redline's engine is tilted back to allow room for the sc, and the sub frames is modified for mounting of the different transmission.

they are both Delta cars. the ion is to the cobalt as the camaro is to the firebird, as the grand marquees is to the crown vic, cavalier as to sunfire

I have a 2004.5-2005 redline in my driveway. it belongs to my wife...and they are pretty much the same , except for the a few minor things ..
im a dork , so as soon as she got the car , it went up on jack stands. and i was on a creeper with a flash light and note pad, the only diff i can tell is the motor mounts are alittle diffrent , and the lower front sub frame is little different . but other than that ,they are twins... you can even use the same springs , struts, ...in fact go on to autozone , select a 2005 redline and a 2005 cobalt ss...ALL THE MAJOR PARTS ARE THE SAME . the redline seems little lower , but wheel gap is the same, wheels base is pretty much dead on ,the exhaust is routed the same way ... i even gave her my ITD because the upper motor mounts are the same.

You’re the one that needs to do your research…and don’t try and argue me …becaeu I’ll go as far to go and put both cars on jack stands and take detailed pics with cliff notes just to prove you more wrong.

dosnt the acr come with 225 BFGoodrich KDW2 and adjustable shocks

, we all know the srt4 is faster in a stright line..but even with more power, wide and super sticky tires and fanciy adjustable shocks ...the SS on it's oversized wheels with a crapy 215 all sesan pzeros still ran a faster lap time , pulld same g's, stoped faster and went thro the slalom 2mph faster.

the srt4 ownd the strights , but the ss made up for it enough in the corners to post a better time..... and that wasnt even a stage 2 ss/sc

im gonna have to say the cobalt is a way better handling car than the srt4 and still holds its own aginst the acr. it even shows in scca club , the ss/sc is in a lower slower class than the srt4 but still post the same or better times than the 290hp staged out srt4 there running.

you have a 2.2 base balt.. it's the same as a saturn ion level one...
and the SS/NA is the SAME as the ion level 3 with performance package (2.4)
and guess what the IRL is the same as an SS/SC. one say's chevy the other say's saturn.. and guess what? they BOTH say GM PERFORMANCE under the hood. why the hell are you even in this discussion? you have a base balt this is an SS/SC vs SRT4 debate.
if you really want to put my UTI degree to the test TRY IT RETARD. and yes the IRL front subframe is WAYYY different than your base balt DUH. you AND your brother are TOOL'S. i really find this kinda funny and pathetic at the same time. cause you cant even spell cousin right and you think you know **** when YOU DONT.
i really think you sir are the one who need's to do the reading.. and calling me a dumb ******* moron when YOU ARE WRONG.. classic .net user..

who sound's dumb NOW???????
not to rag on any balt owner's but this DOUCH is why i usually dont post here.. i feel dumber jus answering his post..

Wow you fail big time. Please stop typing before you make yourself look even more dumb. You keep saying its a saturn its a saturn, well you know what, his SATURN will out perform your car in every aspect stock for stock. Just because YOU havent seen alot of redlines doenst mean there are not more out there. Ever hear of the word rarity? You are making your self look awful dumb here.

you are so correct sir.. jus under 5,700 redline's produced from the 2004 to the 2007 model year.. which is like what 20% of the SS/SC total production number's and the SS/SC had one less year to from 05 to 07..

dang that sounds like a badass race. Well not for u for the srt4. For some reason i hate those cars cuz there better than ours.

even though I lost, It was still a fun race. Probably the most fun I had. That night when I was at the track, I believe he was the only one that beat me out of like 8 runs, I was lovin it.

Ok back on topic - The price for that 05 SRT4 is way too much like everyone has stated before. Really, it all comes down to what you want from the car, how much you want to spend doing stuff to the car, and how long you want to keep the car. I would guess that the cobalt still has a warrenty? The SRT is most likely not going to come with a warrenty, I am not sure if you bought your balt brand new but remember that you dont know how the SRT4 was driven by its previous owner/owners. If it is modded (I didnt read all the posts to find out) then you can assume it was probally beat on a bit. If all you want is straight line performance for low cost then go with the SRT. Before I picked up my balt I was in the market for a SRT but I wanted a car with a warrenty (dumb on my part).

Good luck with whatever your decision is, I think you will be happy either way.

I guess reading isn't your forte, from the link you posted... http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ecs_price.html

hell, just look at the picture that was not an ACR SRT-4.

Now comparing the ACR to the SS/SC...
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...dodge_srt4_acr

There is also one other article that I can't find where the ACR posted better numbers than the SS/SC.
