Oh it's definalty possible to make good hp with a stage 2. A friend of mine started with a GM stage 2 and put on a 2.8 pulley, a wack of cooling mods and a good tune with stock exhaust and layed down 281whp and 232wtq.

Just GM stage 2 is not worth the $. I 2.9'd it w/ full exhaust / intake and got a custom tune and it seems to pull wayyy harder.

The whole point of the GM Stage 2 was to retain the warranty. OTTP's is much better, but if you're trying to not void the warranty, it won't fly.

my brother has a '09 jetta tsi which has the same motor as that gti, the 2.0 turbo.. he has this thing called an "APR tune" which is ridiculous, all it is is a tune with a higher octane mode that increases his WHP by almost 73.

http://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_up...tsi_trans.html

good luck competing with any vw for that matter that goes this route, they are tough to beat.

boost is a little higher than normal, you might have a smaller pulley than gm stage 2 on there

But it's still based off a gm stage 2. Just bolting in a gm stage 2 with nothing else sucks *****. The numbers are off? The guys name is kennyspec. He posted 5 above you're first post. I've seen the dyno sheets

how is it based off a stage2 when the pulley is changed, injectors are changed, tune is changed, and massive amounts of cooling mods are added??? has nothing remotely associated with stage2 at that point

Agreed !! I love when people still call it GM Stage 2 after they completely changed everything.

you don't need stage kits, or mods guys, come one.....you just need all the stickers on the car, that adds like 600 hp at the wheels.......well that's what most of the people think where I live
