supercharged vs. turbocharged question?
I've seen this for the last 5 years with this site ..... people yell and scream for a part ..... then when it comes to market , only a handful actually purchase it.
whats up aha. hopefully u guys reading this can help me as much as possible and also give me your personal opinion. so i want a cobalt ss obviously but not 100 percent sure on if i want a turbocharged or supercharged. i dont know alot of things about under the hood so what would be the best for reliabillity and all that. i just want my car to sound nice ,also be somewhat fast. and if i also want to add some stuff to it down the road

But why did you revive and old thread??
Sent from my iPhone using CobaltSS
Because if he doesn't do that, the people of CSS b!tch and complain when they make a new thread, saying: "you should've searched before making new thread, blah blah blah."
loll its because i dont even know how to use this website yet. so you guys are saying both are reliable and i should get either one ? What one is known to be better ? guessing tc lol
alright nice thanks. what would you say is better for adding parts and tuff like blow off valves and **** under the hood
LSJs can make power from basically any bolt on but to take full advantage of them a tune is still needed.
If you want a decently cheap and fast car, you can always get an LSJ mad cheap and turbo swap it, but it takes a wad of cash and some time to get it good to go.
LNF definitely responds more to bolt ons, but You will need a tune regardless because of the learn down feature. LNFs also don't run BOV from factory. They run a BPV. A BOV can be ran only through adding an upper charge pipe with a BOV flange and getting a BPV for the turbo and then from there you can run a BOV. You also need necessary tuning to run one without it running like butt.

thankyou for these replies bro. so whats your personal opinion for someone who wants a fast and reliable SS and maybe and some mods here and there to it. the money isnt the problem but i also dont wanna have to keep going to mechanics or having to fix it. also want it to sound nice.
nice. does it get like over heated ? do you have a blanket or whatever? What colour is yours?think if i go to my chevy dealer and ask for a ss tc in red would that be hard to get for them ?
Mine doesn't get overheated or anything really, then again I'm fully bolted and tune so I have most of the issues I could have taken care of. When I was stock, the fan did ususaly come on after a couple pulls or so on the highway and after beating on it for a while. Mine's Imp Blue and I fell in love with the color once I saw it in person. Check out my FCOTM thread to see more pics of it.
They could probably find one for a decent price, but have high mileage. Your best bet to finding one for a reasonable price is to avoid a dealer. Check local ads or check out the Complete Cars for sale in the classifieds part of CSS.NET.

It was underrated from the factory. Actually put out around 230 bhp.
Also, was a full second faster than the 2.4 SS/NA in both the 1/4 mile & 0-60 mph (in stock form).
Do some reading on it.
