today, i took my car in for some weird squeaking noise when driving on rough surface. so this service adviser took a test drive with me and we both heard the noise. then i dropped off the car for them to take care of it. few hours later, he called me and said the car is ready for me to pick up, but then they couldnt address the problem when he took the car out for a drive with technicians. so i went back to the dealer to pick up my car. at the dealer, i noticed these massive water splash marks on the fenders. so i wondered how fast were they going with it. but whatever, i had to go home. i pulled out of the dealer and the first thing i noticed was the alignment was out!..... im going straight but the steering wheel is not . also, the steering wheel is like 3 times heavier than it should be. Not only that, im hearing obvious ticking noise under the car as it runs. im confused ....what should i do.....im guessing that they took it out for a wild test drive

I don't know about your noise, but I have a clicking when turn the steering wheel. More like a popping noise. They told me they regreased the bearings when they fixed the air conditioner recall, and told me to call them if it continues. Well guess what? It got worse. Took it back in tuesday and they told me they were replacing the whole rack and pinion. Than they called me yesterday and said they won't get the parts in till monday. And they also said they aren't sure if that is the problem...What you guys think? I should tell them to give me a new car cause there is a bangign noise in the rear also.. I only have 2800 miles and wash it twice a week.
When you drop your car off at the service dept they should give the car a once over and make sure there is no visible damage. From your post I am not sure you are saying there is visible damage, but if they test drove the car with you they should of also noted that alignment issue and offered to fix it.
It sounds like someone hit a large pot hole on a test drive and isn't owning up to it.
I have had service dept issues with the dealer and when I called the GM 800 number for service I got instant results and they called the dealer and set them strait.
Hind sight is 20/20 but I would have turned right around and brought it back and pointed out all the new wrong things and left it and had them give me a ride home. I know that might not be possible if you need your car tho.
Sorry about your bad experience, unfortunetly the life sucks sometimes ...

It was a slight popping but got worse and worse. When I get it back I'll tell you if it is fixed. That way you can get it done to. If your dealer doesn't think that is the problem I can copy the write up papers and than post them.

I'm sooooooo sorry! Obviously they joy rided it! UGH! I have one sales person & service rep that is FULL responsible for our cars. We even tip them $20 or whatever to make sure they are taken care of. Need to build the good relationship, unfortunately now you might have to go elsewhere. Now, its your word against theirs.
