Yes it certainly is the best subi front end
the 9 is better, only marginally though. If you get an 8 it needs to be a 05

but you can have a 05 evo 9 it just won't be a mr
but you can have a 05 evo 8 mr

the mr's are the better evo's anyway

 

I think it was a mid model year change, because I've seen 05 8s and 05 9s

but yeah they came out mid year

but that silver one was just a link error
the page is titled 05 evo 9 mr
but the title to the thread is 06

mr's always came out a year later than the intro of the new gen

for example evo 8's came out in 03 but the evo 8 mr didn't come out until 04
same goes for the 9's they came out in 05 but the mr's didn't come out until 06
