There is an option for (hard to find the company's that do it) custom/classic car insurance. You tell them how much coverage you want (20k) and they give you a price for what that coverage will run you. But the good news is, if you get hit, then you get your 20k.

State Farm is one. I had Classic Plates on my Supra. They asked me what it was worth, how much I wanted to cover it for, how much I drove it. I told them $8000 and got full coverage for $11/month and no driving restrictions. It was 50/100/50

Ouch. Sounds like you're gonna need some lube since FL is a no-fault state... You should at least have gap coverage (most loan companies require it) so you'll just be right back at zero and not owe any more.

whats PIP stand for?
I know i dont have collision on my Nissan, just liability and comprehensive...
if they hit you their insurance should cover your car... unless they are underinsured.
If they pin you hitting the rail on the car that bumped you, then her/his insurance should pay for your car.

FL is a no-fault state. His insurance covers his car and any litigation expenses associated with an accident on his behalf, but the other guy's insurance won't cover anything of his unless he takes him to court over it.

basically "no fault" is for where a party who is injured in an automobile accident recovers damages up to a specific amount against his own insurance. for damages to vehicle that would fall under the liable parties coverage. sometimes that liablilty decision can take some time so your ins company would take care of repairs and then go after the at fault party for the money.
