and the turtle is no more
do not take this the wrong way but if you dropped $10,000 in your engine without having full coverage on your car, well, you were asking for something like this to happen anyway
when I tried to get my car, the insurance company I used to be with wouldn't cover it, and I had a clean record with no wrecks or anything... they have a policy about not covering anyone under 25 in what they consider to be a "sports car"... and had just started for new policies... so I switched companies... there are other means of getting insurance, may not be cheap, but I bet right now you wouldn't complain about your insurance going up a little
I actually got mine pretty reasonable as well
me, I got full coverage, low deductible, and gap insurance, i'm not taking any chances... and you'd be surprised at the amount of people who do not know what gap insurance is, I laugh at the people who buy new cars and pass on it

Cuz if you parted and stopped paying the bill, and they came to repossess, there would be a wrecked empty shell sitting there... you would be sued asap.
i dont see how he didnt have full coverage anyways... the banks have always requested a copy of the insurance info for me.... sounds like his bank screwed up and if they tried to suit him they would lose due to their neglegence.
^ that wouldnt stop it from going on his credit report and ruining it, and next time he applies for a loan they would deny him.
...if he didnt pay off the loan that is....

and I repeat, no matter what a dealer tells you(which I don't see why they would seeing as how they usually offer it), anyone who buys a new car WITHOUT gap insurance is a moron... why? because it doesn't matter if you have the best insurance company out there with the best coverage, lowest deductible, etc... if you total a car, guess what they give you: Book value, that is it, not a dollar more... on a financed car, OFTEN TIMES(more likely than not) you will owe more than the book value, for the 1st few years its almost always like that unless you put down a ridiculous down payment, just because in the 1st two years every car takes a beating in resell, after that, it levels off(unless you drive a Cobalt, lol)... so pretty much if you happen to total a new car within two years, you will be upside down on it if you don't have gap... people who take hits in trading an old car in and buying new, are definitely morons, because then you could be in the hole up to $10,000... i've seen that personally happen to someone I know with a Nissan Titan
When I got my last 3 cars my bank actsully wanted to talk to my insurence agent before they would even give me the loan. I had to also have proof of insurence on the day I signed my paper work. I don't understand how your bank didn't follow a simlier process. Have you talked your bank! My loan paper work actsully states the coverage on my car.
This may be old news by now but as far as how you may have only ended up with pip/pd. Some insurance companies will strip your comprehensive and collision coverage if you don't get an inspection after the first 30 or so days you start the policy.
What kind of inspection? That's not something we have to do by us. If my insurence company even thought about changing mine, they have to talk to the bank first!
in MA you need a photo session with the car within 14days of insuring for collision coverage. this is so they have documents of what the car looks like now before you make a claim. also the ins. company isnt responsible for what the bank wants, you are. and vise versa. so no matter what the blame will come back to you. hope it works out for the best.
and no matter what, when the repo a car. they sell it at auction, and then your responsible for the difference after that. just like a house.

what sucks about havin a car thats fast or a car that looks fast... ur own insurance company automatically blames u for fault... because everyone thinks ur speeding!!!!...when i got into my accident in my srt-4 i was going threw a green light and some dick decides 2 make a quick left on the ooposite direction and bam i hit a van while i had a green light!.. the other drive has a green arrow only...from the cops, andthe insurance company... all i heard was when they saw pictures snd seen my car... looks like u were going reallly fast! how fast u were going i told them i was going by speed limit.... nah impossible... which the funny thing is like 6 years before i had the same accident but i made the left but i had fault lol... so in this accident i get fault again lol but i went straight and i had a green light....
