and the turtle is no more
yah gap is supposed to pay the car off. ive alwaays thought you had to have full coverage of the car to get GAP. but then agian is you Gap throug Ins. or the Bank?
it may depends on what was in your contract. if the loan and GAP are through the bank and your contract for the loan says you have to have collision on your car to use the GAp then you may not get anything. i hope its th ecomplete opposite for you and it gets paid.

I doubt it....
But maybe you can get the insurance to do an apprasal of the car, to see what the ACV was when it was wrecked (this is normal if they would of covered you) and that would let you know how much they would of paid to cover the "gap"
Maybe you can talk them to paying that "gap"?

yea i dont want to **** my credit up because im planning on getting a house in a couple months so ima pay w.e gap insurance wont cover
i got a one car shop for the cobalt and i plan on stripping her down COMPLETELY and parting her out this weekend and hopefully to help pay off the car... im buying a single cam eg hatch tonight
so no cobalt for awhile.. but once the car is paid off im jumping right back in the chevy game.. maybe in time for the cruze ss
Skimmed through the thread...still not understanding how you can legally drive a car with a bank lien, with anything less than full coverage. When I worked for a bank and they found out people were driving with no insurance, the placed CPI (collateral protection insurance) on their account, basically adding it to the loan balance. One way or another, the car should have been insured. It's great that no one was hurt, but there is definitely something missing from this story.
insurance isnt covering anything gap is suppose to help pay i portion and ill just pay the rest off.. soo looks out for my for sale thread lol... just waiting for gap to come thru.. by the way im picking up a miata this week for like 2000 lmfao !!! sleeper
do not take this the wrong way but if you dropped $10,000 in your engine without having full coverage on your car, well, you were asking for something like this to happen anyway
when I tried to get my car, the insurance company I used to be with wouldn't cover it, and I had a clean record with no wrecks or anything... they have a policy about not covering anyone under 25 in what they consider to be a "sports car"... and had just started for new policies... so I switched companies... there are other means of getting insurance, may not be cheap, but I bet right now you wouldn't complain about your insurance going up a little
I actually got mine pretty reasonable as well
me, I got full coverage, low deductible, and gap insurance, i'm not taking any chances... and you'd be surprised at the amount of people who do not know what gap insurance is, I laugh at the people who buy new cars and pass on it
