I just seen a Balt at an auction with ABSOLUTELY no damage on it, but it had a salvage title. So I was like wtf.. why's this car salvage? Apparently it has 'undercarriage damage'. My question is what kind of undercarriage damage could possibly happen without anybody damage that would cost enough to salvage a car???

 

Bent frame or something of the sort.

 

Yeah but I can't see a bent frame costing anywhere near the 13k its appraised at... Unless the frame is destroyed

 

subframe damage and maybe a FUBAR floor pan. imho a floorpan would be a bitch to replace.

could have been someone drove over a curb unknowingly and gouged out the floorpan and fucked the subframe as well. maybe the torsion beam too. idk what constitutes undercarriage damage

 

did the car run? was the oil pan ripped off and the motor sized or crank wiped out? tranny couldve been cracked too. a ton of variables.

 

Agreed my cousin totaled his sunfire by ripping the oil pan off when he ran over a rather large rock. The engine was fine but it set off both airbags which cracked the windshield.

 

naa.. it wasnt running...
