My car has been vibrating through the brake pedal, steering wheel, and now the whole car is shaking after braking from 40+mph. My first thoughts were warped brake rotors, so I went and had them turned. I inspected the tie rods and they seemed fine, the wheels wouldn't move when shaking them while car was off the ground. I made sure the caliper bolts were torqued to proper specification as well as the lug nuts and I also went ahead and had a front end alignment done...I'm beginning to run out of ideas, have any of you experienced something similar?

 

front wheels are they balanced, and who turned your rotors maybe your rotor are out of spec

 

Your rotors are warped. You can't really turn a warped rotor. Especially the rotors on the base model. Theyre like a feeling pancake. Get new ones and get new pads and tour golden. I know this cause I had the same problem... twice

 

i have the same problem with my LS

 

gotta be the discs or pads.. mine warped almost to the point of not being able to be turned... and after i went with ceramic pads... havent had any problems since

AND if you turn your discs, use new pads, dont reuse the ones that were on there before you turned the discs

 

same problem, switched to ebc rotors, problem solved.

 

I have the same problem with my g5 gt, my old lt did it to, even with my drilled and slotted rotors suck!

 

Thanks for the responses, would you guys recommend I purchase a set of aftermarket rotors and pads versus oem ones? I'd like a little more longevity than 40k miles if possible.

 

well I have about 15K on my R1 concepts drilled and slotted and mine shake and vibrate, so idk

 

i want to know what to buy too

 

I'm really hoping it's the rotors and not a bent rim, I just got a set of wheels/tires from tire rack a little over a week ago and this problem presented itself after installing them...

 

I swear bro you have a couple rats in your rim playin cards.. So yeah.. im jk ^^^^^^ this is the issue!!!

 

re balance your wheels, go with stock replacement discs with good ceramic brake pads.. done

 

This. Fresh pads and rotors=no shaking.

nope i havent been to my dealer yet cuz i live 3 hours away while going to school but im going home tomorrow so i will see if the dealer can fix it. are you really a chevy customer service person

i am scheduled to get my car worked on august 15th so they should fix the vibration and pull while braking

 

Only thing I can think of is replacing the front rotors and pads.
Seems like your pretty diligant on your torqueing so no trouble
there.
