Installed new Corsa resonator (3rd one under warranty).

They claim this one has been updated. Only time will tell.

Glad you have the warranty, that could get expensive.

Oh yeah, its a great warranty to... All I do is send them a pic of the failure and they send me a brand new resonator no questions asked.

At the same time it sucks though, because I've given them suggestions on how to update it yet they keep sending me the same thing.

Although, this last resonator was stamped 10-25-15.... which was a day after I put in the warranty claim so hopefully this one is actually updated.

TBH I'm curious about how much I'll need to change the design for LNF. Those VVT things are ugly and in the way. I could probably make a hump to cover them too. Really I want to make a carbon NA/SC engine cover.

I'll be getting all the stuff I need this week and next week. I got 10 yards of fiberglass mat and tooling resin today for molds, along with PVA spraying system, bondo, and polypropylene sheets. Tomorrow I should get mold release wax, and next week should be 3 yards of carbon, all the bagging materials, and some epoxy resin. I'm unsure whether plain epoxy will work or if I'll need the high-temp stuff, but my car is the guinea pig so we'll see. I gave up on the aluminum casting for now because I was being burned too much.

Make sure you get some heat reflective tape/foil if you're making them for the LNF, I'm pretty sure it gets hot enough to discolor the resin unless you have a high temp resin

For the LNF I'll be using high-temp resin. It's rated to 325*. Hopefully that's enough.

That should be, once the temps warm up I can log the temp above the valve cover and what temps are recorded below zzps cover

I would be eternally grateful. 325* is enough to bake cake with. Hopefully the valve cover doesn't get that hot lol.

The turbo is right behind there, and you create an area that can trap heat so it's possible, not very probable tho

Thanks! I have always lived thinking I could never do anything. The biggest game changer was ditching that attitude. Now I know I can do anything if I want to badly enough. 2016 is gonna be a good year!

Isn't that why the LNF didn't come with a cover and under hood insulation??

Not trying to bash your idea or anything Jesse because it is always nice to dress up the engine bay don't get me wrong.

Not entirely sure, I dont know any GM engineers that worked on the LNF engine (let alone any engine). Once things warm up I'll log the temps on mine for the no cover and I'll get together with Colodude for the cover (granted he has a zfr but he might be fine with swaping it for a quick log)

To be honest I don't have an LNF, so it really doesn't matter to me. I don't get that hot. But if I can get away with high temp resin I'd love to make some cool stuff for people. I seriously doubt a valve cover gets over 300* but we shall see. i saw some carbon/kevlar mix stuff I'd just looooooove to try out.

Hmm thats interesting, going to lookup the prices for that stuff. I've played around with woven fiberglass enough to make me want to try carbon fiber

The metallic is $90/yard at the cheapest. The carbon/kevlar stuff is like $30.
