I just passed 100,000 on my Cobalt LS this weekend while going drag racing on Saturday and autocross on Sunday. I also daily drive it during the week. When you own a 2006 Cobalt LS mileage is not a scary thing as there is no resale value anyway and replacement parts can be found relatively cheap.

Haha just means it has not only fewer miles on the moving parts BUT ALSO fewer years on the body parts

Oh, and it has only ~6,000 miles on the engine and ~2,000 on the tranny

I only have about 5k on my cylinder head, valves, springs, cams, lifters, followers etc.

Suspension is basically brand new to.

The body on my car may have 67K, but it looks showroom fresh. Always garaged and kept out of the snow

Lol I did the same with a 4x4x8 Harbor Freight box trailer for 500 miles with the LNF a couple years ago so I know what you mean. I was only loaded with a table and some chairs so at least it was light. Air drag above 50 mph sucks.

Did another stint pulling ~50-75 miles with the chassis nearly maxed out last year, car was less happy with that drive.

So far as towing with the Cobalt, they only list automatic transmissions as being able to tow. Why I can only speculate as the L61, LE5, and LAP all say you can't tow with them either when paired with a manual. I suspect it has something to do with the autos actually having a transmission cooler or being able to withstand more constant high load torque.

All that being said, I pulled an F250 with the 6.8L V10 about a mile up a hill with Powell's rear tow hook and a nice long strap without issue other than having to feather the clutch a lot at the start.

I've always had a bike rack on the hitch, but I didn't know the manual cars weren't supposed to tow... in any case, my almost stock LSJ+F35 handled the 1500lb anti-aerodynamic load well over the 200 miles.

I think the F35's handle more toarks than the 4T65's, beyond clutch slipping at launch, additional wear shouldn't be an issue.

And I've never heard of a tranny cooler for a manual tranmission in a regular street car, as a part of a towing package or otherwise.

Replaced my front rotors the other day. With OEM Made in Germany AC Delco's. These things are a must especially if you track your car.

Old rotors were getting a little thin, besides showing the micro cracks that are normal with track use:

That's the same brake lube that I redid my four corners with, I won't be going to the track for a while, but I'm hoping it'll work well!

It does work well on the pads. I'm actually using the below stuff on the pins though. I've found it sticks a bit better. Just make sure to re-grease everything periodically. Especially if the car spends its summer days outside.
