Damn man that looks bad. From the discoloration it looks like you had some serious friction going on. I would think at least your crankshaft, main bearings, and rod bearings at least would need to be replaced.

 

Isn't the discoloration on the crank just heat treating?

Cams look the same way.

 

The discoloration is normal from everything I've seen, at least on the LNF.

How you liking the nt05? I like mine. I don't have radials but I think they're pretty nice to daily on just the front tires. I'm stock turbo tho..

 

Put a Diesel owner in his place today. Put a few car lengths on the guy.

 

Good so far.
I have a 2nd gear now, but they are still fresh so we will see how that holds up. Used to not get traction until about 5-5.5k in 2nd, now I can at 3k with the same throttle input; so the car is much quicker.

I raced a 2.4SS on my way to work today. He started it, i finished it. Looked like he was standing still lmao

Same. He got the jump. Heard is turbo spool and black soot pour out the sewer pipe exhaust.

I said what the hell, and punched it. By the time I reached the end of the bridge I had a few lengths on him. The race was over and I only needed 1st and 2nd gear to shut him down quick.

There are some nasty diesels out there, but 90% of them just make a bunch of noise and soot.

 

Well today I learned lol. I did not know about the tempering. I don't recall seeing that on my L61 crank when I installed rods and pistons but I'm also not sure if mine has it or not.

 

Anyone else's trunk lid rusting under the tail light?

 

Zero rust on my car, but my wifes 2013 equinox is starting to show signs of rust along the inside door seams.

I feel my Cobalts paint is much thicker and better applied than on the Equinox.

POR15 to the rescue.

 

I installed a silicone vacuum line kit today that I picked up from HPSI motor sports. It was a nice kit & everything was pre-cut & fit perfectly!

 

Also installed my new ZZP shorty header today! It was a perfect fit! I picked up a new pack of exhaust head studs along with their ZZP exhaust manifold gasket & header to down pipe gasket & it was all a perfect fit with no leaks! I love the sound! Only bad thing is I went with a Denso upstream O2 sensor & now I have a P0133 code so I'm swapping the Denso out for a NTK.

 

 

Couple more upgrades. ZZP intercooler- Ingalls stiffy torque damper-ZZP main engine mount strut bar-Hurst quick throw shifter-Injen CAI-ZZP 3.0" pulley & hub system-

Ordered an LDK from ZZP. Hoping I can get all the parts here before or shortly after next weekend.
