Yeah, my wife says I can be "Obsessive" about the car! Lol
I did pick up a slightly used ZZP header/downpipe combo for just under $200 the other day.

Get ready for exhaust leaks and rasp galore!

Are the ZZP kits known for that? Been looking at getting the mid or long length kit.

Nothing but problems with mine. Flexpipe snapped, exhaust leaks galore, sounded awful. They might have fixed these issues with their latest product.

Nice to know.... I may check with a guy here that has the mid length setup how his is doing. He has already offered to sell it to me for a "smokin deal". I wonder if that is why?

Cleaned and detailed the inside and outside, and replaced the inner cooler pump.

I've got ZZP's 3" exhaust from a long-tube header all the way back. If you don't do silly things like delete the cat and go straight pipe from there back you won't have any rasp. In fact I would say ZZP is much better than most of the existing competition today as far as sound or deadening the rasp. This 3" exhaust is much quieter and far less raspy than my old 2.25" magnaflow system. I also don't know what he is going on about exhaust leaks as ZZP clamps are quality. Just get the option with the high-flow cat, resonator and muffler.

I don't have a header, just the down pipe and Catback with Resonator, 200 Cell Cat, and muffler. It's not raspy are all. No leaks. It does have a bit of drone at certain RPM points. But it's completely livable on long trips. I've taken the car on several 6+ road trips over the last year.

If leaking is a problem, i'd suggest taking somewhere and getting it wielded.

replaced:

both front wheel bearings
Outer tie rod ends
passenger side caliper

this weekend i need to:

replace both rear shocks
replace both rear calipers
install newish blinker switch
both door lock buttons

and hopefully figure out why the car shakes under acceleration. I am wondering if its an axle, even tho I got new axles 6 months ago.

Replaced my clutch, timing chain tensioner, thermostat.
Re-torqued my manifold and accessory studs/bolts. basically went over everything and made sure it was as it should be while the engine was out.

Today I am greasing the tvs and changing its oil, and replacing the front main seal. then it's all ready to go back in

Front main seal like in end of the snout? I assume you are talking about greasing the needle bearings in the housing. Do you clean out the old grease or just add to it? Did you use that Nye Rheotemp 500 grease from ZZP? Sorry for all the questions but I just recently rebuilt my TVS and am trying to decide on a service interval so I hopefully never have to do that again.

Yeah flex pipe didn't hold up well. Weld on the bung wasn't strong at all.

front main crankshaft seal. I'm just going to add grease to the bearings depending on how they look. I don't have a set interval, but everything it out, so I'm doing it.

Oh the actual front main seal lol. Not the front main seal on your TVS.

Do you inject any meth/water before the SC? I would be interested in seeing how your housing looks untouched right after you pull out the rotors if you think to take a picture? They way my grease was swirled I am confident that the meth or water helped was some of the grease out of my bearings. I know people on here will argue otherwise but my blower hasn't been run hard enough for enough miles to be completely dry on grease like it was. Needless to say I am now injecting post supercharger because I don't want to brick my TVS.

it has about 15k miles on it. no water/meth, but I plan on injecting straight water pre-blower when i get it all back together

I know people on here insist injecting there isn't an issue but I would keep an eye on it. Mine only started making a mild squeaking noise (typical "bad-bearing" noise) and that was it. But when I took it apart some of the rollers fell right out of the bearing so I got lucky I caught it when I did. According to everything I have seen it seems more likely the water flushed out my grease more than the methanol did so just be careful.

This is a daily driver in an emissions testing state.

I think you read what I typed a little too fast.

Edit: Unless you are trying to tell me in a roundabout way that you won't be deleting your cat. My only point was the cat actually helps toning down the rasp.

10-4. Your take away should be that if you get a ZZP exhaust with a cat, resonator, and downpipe it will sound good. If you get a ZZP exhaust and omit the sound modifiers you get a rasp/rice mobile.

Yeah... The build to date has been to use OEM parts, Look OEM and sound just slightly louder than OEM. I can keep my foot out of it in the neighborhood. Funny drive the other day, I lit them up at an intersection and sure as crap a cop was at the next block. I was with 2 other cars as we all went by and there was no way to figure out which car did it, in fact the sedan Cobalt was probably not his first or second thought.

Changed the front wheel bearing. The MOOG replacements look much better built than the AC delco I put in the rear last week.

The video is boring but it's purpose was to hear the 3" ZZP exhaust in different driving situations. I honestly think it sounds pretty good. Sounds WAAAY better than my old 2.25" Magnaflow cat-back that I had since I was in highschool.
