Replaced the timing chain tensioner, driver's side inner fender, and tightened down the passenger sway bar end link. Engine still has a terrible rattle though...

Tried to troubleshoot what the squealing noise coming from the engine bay was, 99% sure it's the snout bearing

looking for $130 shipped for the set

front mount got bent about 1/16-1/32" during the wreck, so i straightened it out.

I'm curious how those tires are on our cars. I'll be up in a few months for some new tires and narrowed it down to those or the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2.

Not today, but last Saturday....

Traded it in

Clutch was about to go out and I was offered 8K on trade for it even though I only paid 10k for it almost 2 years ago with 30k+ less miles. I practically robbed the dealership.

New ride:

2008 Audi A4 3.2L with the S-Line package! 19k miles.

Thanks! I'm going to hate the payments (almost double my Balt), but it still has 36k or 4 years of bumper to bumper warranty left. Only thing not covered is tires and brake pads. So, I think given the maintenance difference it'll even out a little. Gas mileage won't be the same thanks to AWD, but my commute is like 3-5 miles depending on which route I feel like taking, so I'm not overly concerned about that.

Nice upgrade indeed! My wife has a 2002 A6 3.0 quattro. In December we just replaced the time belt, serpentine belt, water pump, and thermostat ... $1600 later it runs like a champ.

How many miles do you guys have on it? I think my engine's probably pretty similar to that one.

143k, that job is supposed to be done around 120k I think, which it should have been because it was leaking coolant slowly, then faster, then finally faster than you could pour it in lol. But it took 20k miles and a year of driving to get that bad. And your engine bay looks exactly like her's, with a couple changes here and there but mostly identical. The shop owner's wife has a 2003 A6 and he said we'll get another 130-150k out of the car with proper maintenance. So we have high hopes for owning the car for a while longer now.
