wheel studs
wheel studs
anyone know of some good upgraded wheel studs for the lt four lugs? i've broke two of mine off so far (one on each side of front) and want to replace them all when i replace them two so i dont have to worry bout breakin again..
im not really sure.. it happened bout a month after i put my 18's on.. i was walkin up to my car and just happen to look down and notice it.. bout a month later one on the other side broke off too.. i guess i may have over tightened em or somethin.. from what i've heard the factory ones are crappy anyways..

If you overtighten any lugnut, it's going to weaken it a significant amount......even if they're aftermarket hardened ones. You should really use a torque wrench to make sure they're all 100 lb./ft......tighter than that and you're just asking for trouble. I've never had any problems with my studs or any other Cobalt/G5 studs, and I work on them all the time. If you want to see really bad studs, look at the GM 2500 trucks.......absolutely terrible for stripping.
yeah i use a torque wrench at work pretty often and usually have to pull at least 300 to 350 lb/ft on most everythin and thats not all that hard to pull so i know i probley did over do it on my lugs a little..
