where does this peice go?

guys, i found this peice laying under the shifter assembly when installing my hurst short throw. it dosnt look like it came off anything from what i can see. anyone kno more about this?

It is for your e brake. Mine popped out too about 2 years ago and I still have it in my glove box. I never use my e brake anyways so I never bothered to fix it.

ok cool deal, my ebrake was repalced when i forst got my car, something was broke off, this must have been what was broke cause i repalced it the day after i got the car. thanks i was a little worried for a lil bit haha btw i did find a old condom still in package, but old, and a lighter and some change under that shifter assembly, it was a little odd.

how do you park? do you put the weight of the car on the transmission? isn't that bad for it?
