who will buy/trade in for the 08.5 LNF cobalt??
or kinda like how the ss members try so hard to bring some of the 2.2l members down... when they hear about a 2.2l on n2o killing literaly killing a 2.0l....
It will only be worth it if they fixed all the problems with the first ss. Axels, clutch, wheel hop etc... Then you think well it has 260hp but 230- 240 hp to the wheels the same as a stage 2 ss/sc. Im not sure but what kind of aftermarket will there be? Its been 3 years for the ss/sc and its finally getting good. So who wants to lose a bunch of money for a car thats is basically a replica has same hp as alot of the people on this forum. And wait another 3 years? . Im with anOmalous one fwd is enough, New camaro for me! I love my car and will probaly have it for the next 3-4 years but you can only take it so far.
Agreed
I say wait till motor trend does an article on it to compare the SS/SC VS SS/TC to see the differences. But I would have to say unless they beef up the axles, trans, clutch and mounts. It's not not going to be good.
lookat the write up for the SRT4 Caliber. Sure more horse power and torque but nothing but torque steer and wheel hopp. Same time for 0-60 and 1/4 mile . I know it's the weight thing but lets see what happens before you trade in the SS /SC. I'M Keeping mine. I like the WHINE!!!!!
now that i think about it. i'm damn happy where i'm at with stage 2 and intake putting me around 250hp. i don't think it will be worth it to upgrade for a car that is 10 hp more than mine, along with the fact that i boost instantly. i'm sure the s/c hp/tq curve looks a bit stronger than the turbo...but who knows, maybe not.
and then the whole shpeal about how the LNF's turbo is maxed out and it would need to be replaced to make a decent amout of more boost.
what i'm saying is...i'm happy with what i got! pretty sweet though...turbo balt!

It is a car, nothing more. The goal is to make it fast. That is it. Stop trying to make so much out of it. You sound like a kid.
One thing to consider when purchasing this new 260/260 balt.
The solstice gxp and the sky redline show zero increase in power from any bolt ons with no tuning. (technically they see a spike in power before the ECU learns and resets to stock power)
The reason is that the ECU measures how much engine torque it is making and if it isn't making within 2% of the 260, it will change timing, fuel, boost, etc. to make that exact power. This is why the sol/sky tranny is only rated for 260 torque.
I think that GM is expecting the cobalt to be modded heavily in the tuner market since they are not using the same transmission or one rated with similar torque, but using a 350 max torque transmission.
Hopefully that is the case, and they don't restrict the power.
Addition: The Tranny is rated to 260 but can handle in excess of 300 for some period of time. The differential can only handle approximately 260hp before excessive wear.

Now there might as well be two Cobalt communities. Turbo's and blowers will never get along.
